my first blog

I've wanted to blog for quite awhile and now that the time is here, it's kinda scary for me! There is so much I'd like to share about how much I love living on the Coast I'm not sure where to start! So, since I love the food I eat since moving here from Phila, I thought I'd start with our dinner last night. Our dear friend, Capt. Tom Mattusch of the Huli Cat has been trying to convert me from a non seafood eater to a seafood lover for many years. I've resisted all his offers saying I just don't care for the stuff. So, being persistent as he is, he just kept bringing by buckets of fresh crab, whole salmon and halibut he caught in Alaska. Since none of his seafood smelled fishy like the stuff I grew up on, I was tempted to try a bite or two and now I am so hooked on the freshest of fresh stuff. Last night he gave us 3 kicking and screaming crabs and we decided to make crab cakes.Crabpic  Well, now I can't get enough. I'm sharing this receipe my husband Jim made up and hope you'll enjoy them just as much as we did! Here it is......

2 cups of fresh crab meat

1 cup of freshly made bread crumbs

          1/2 cup of heavy cream

          3 eggs

          a dash of Tabasco

          2 tsps of Worcestershire sauce

2 tsps of fresh parsley leaves, always available in my garden, another blog entry soon

2 tsps of green onions, also from my garden

          1 tsp of salt

3/4 tsp of pepper, freshly ground of course

          1 tsp of jallepeno seeded

Mix and fry in olive oil.
